Rebecca Barry Named a Crain’s Detroit 2020 Notable Woman in Design

Rebecca Barry, AIA, Ghafari’s Manager of Architecture, was recognized as one of Crain’s Detroit Business2020 Notable Women in Design. Throughout her architectural career, Becky has honed her ability to sync facility design intent with distinct technical and functional requirements, striking a balance between thoughtful aesthetics and beautiful utility.

“Becky has worked on some portfolio-defining projects in her career here,” said Kouhaila (Ki) Hammer, president and CEO of Ghafari Associates. “Her design strengths are considerable, but it was her leadership skills that stood out from the beginning. She is a committed mentor, especially to our younger architects.”

At Ghafari, Becky leads our Dearborn-based architectural team, providing production oversight, project coordination, quality assurance, and mentorship. She has applied her expertise in building programming and planning, code review and analysis, construction document coordination and production, and construction administration for projects across the commercial, hospitality, retail, government, and industrial markets. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network.

Congratulations to Becky on this well-deserved honor – we are so proud of all the work she does to help advance design in the community!
