The Rock Ventures + Rock Family of Companies Headquarters has recently received Interior Design’s (ID) 2025 “Best of the Best” award in the medium corporate office category. This latest recognition for Rock Ventures HQ, which also received ID’s “Best of Year” award in 2022, is for the best of the last 20 years. Ghafari served as architect of record on the project, working in partnership with interior design firm, Pophouse.
Located in the heart of downtown Detroit, the Rock Ventures headquarters unites a collection of teams supporting a diverse portfolio of companies, split between two floors of new office space totaling 50,000 SF. Designed with the philosophy that progress happens at the intersection of ideas, this transformative space allows for open communication and collaboration, linking together the teams who work to support the entire family of companies.
The showpiece of the space is a monumental spiral staircase in the atrium that not only connects the lower and upper levels of the office but also creates serendipitous opportunities for employees who don’t normally work together to come into contact, fostering a sense of being part of a larger enterprise. The office accommodates a variety of open and closed workspaces, breakout areas, a boardroom, and an auditorium.
