Ghafari Celebrates “Design Firm of the Year” Win at ENR Midwest Awards Ceremony

Ghafari leadership, including Chairman + Founder Yousif B. Ghafari and CEO + President Kouhaila G. Hammer, celebrated our “Design Firm of the Year” recognition at ENR Midwest’s Regional Best Projects Awards ceremony in Chicago on November 29.

ENR editors announced their “Design Firm of the Year” selection in April, choosing Ghafari in part because of our track record of continuous growth and ever-strengthening position in the Midwest region. In May, they published an in-depth profile on the firm’s 35-year legacy as an innovator in our industry and a powerhouse in the Midwest.

In accepting this honor, Yousif attributed Ghafari’s continued success to the dedication of our team members and the loyalty of our long-term clients.

During the ceremony, we were also recognized for our work on The Lofts at River East, which ENR Midwest named a “Best Project” winner in the renovation / restoration category. This unique project involved the conversion of a historic 530,000 SF, seven-story former warehouse into a mixed-use facility with 285 apartments and 140,000 SF of commercial space.
