Q+A with Jonathon Jackson, Architect
How do you describe your job to people outside of the industry?
I typically tell them that every day is a learning experience in this industry, and the most rewarding part of what I do is seeing the design come to life.
Why did you decide to become an architect?
I took some architecture / drafting courses in high school and fell in love with the design side of this industry.
How would you describe life at Ghafari?
I look at Ghafari as an extension of family. I’ve grown close to many people at this firm and have made some great friends here.
What is the most exciting thing that has happened during your time here?
I don’t know that I can single out one event, but in my 8+ years in the company, I am very impressed with the company’s growth and willingness to take on new challenges every year.
What is a key idea or lesson you have learned while working at Ghafari?
The main lesson I’ve learned is that teamwork is key. With great communication and a well-defined goal, the process and overall product turn out much better in the end.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I try to spend as much time with my family as I can, whether it’s going camping or taking my children to the park. They are growing up too fast.
