Strengthening Detroit as a cargo and logistics hub.

Overview

To meet growing demands in shipping and transportation, FedEx initiated the development of a new processing center at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). FedEx engaged our team to provide comprehensive planning, architecture, and engineering design services for seven structures totaling more than 350,000 SF.

A state-of-the-art facility designed for future expansion.

Applying our extensive knowledge of cargo facilities, we developed a facility with potential for future growth. Our design includes a main operations building, administration and support center, ground support equipment maintenance building, electrical power generation installation, aircraft deicing facility, and multiple canopies for equipment coverage on site. In addition to our A/E services, our Operations and Systems Engineering Group provided process and material handling equipment design and engineering for the package processing center.

This initiative underscores FedEx’s commitment to developing Detroit as a cargo and logistics hub while maintaining a strong presence at DTW and in the local community.
