Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Celebrates Opening of Recreational Complex
Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (TIEM) recently celebrated the grand opening of the new employee health and fitness center at their North American headquarters in Columbus, Indiana with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Dubbed the “T+Rex Recreational Complex”, the two-story, 35,000-square-foot facility features an exercise room, indoor track, yoga studio, recreation room, two indoor basketball courts, and a medical center where employees and their family members can receive primary healthcare, wellness coaching, physical therapy, and access to a full-line pharmacy.
Ghafari designed the complex, which stands as a testament to TIEM’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life of their team members, promoting camaraderie across their organization, and ultimately, improving productivity.
“We’ve had a lot of positive comments about the building so far,” says TIEM Senior Vice President Tony Miller. “It’s an opportunity to get to know people you might never have the opportunity to talk to in a usual workday.”
TIEM leaders describe their commitment to health, fitness, and medical care as a win-win for the company and their workforce, resulting in healthier employees who are more productive.
“I’m so energized and motivated by T+Rex,” says Michelle Nichter, a dealer sales support manager for Toyota Material Handling. “The facility has far exceeded my expectations and is nicer than any other gym I’ve paid to join. We are so fortunate to work for a company that cares about the health and wellbeing of their associates and their families.”
