Mazda-Toyota Huntsville Plant Wins BF’s 2018 Deal of the Year Silver Award

The new Mazda-Toyota automotive assembly plant in Huntsville, Alabama was recognized with the Silver Award in Business Facilities’ “Deal of the Year” competition. Coming second only to the Amazon HQ2 project, the Mazda-Toyota plant represents a $1.6-billion investment and is anticipated to create 4,000 new jobs.

Ghafari is providing comprehensive architecture and engineering services for the nearly six million SF complex, which will be among the largest of its kind in terms of size and operational capacity. When completed, the new plant will be able to assemble up to 300,000 vehicles annually. Vehicle production is expected to be up and running in 2021.
