Ghafari Wins Crain’s Detroit Business “Excellence in HR” Award

Ghafari is thrilled to announce that our Human Resources team has won Crain’s Detroit Business’ “Excellence in HR” award!

Winners of the annual award are selected by Crain editors and a judging panel of experienced HR professionals and former “Excellence in HR” award winners. Ghafari was recognized in the award’s “overall excellence” category honoring HR teams that drove significant business results in 2022.

Even amid the continued challenges and uncertainties associated with a volatile global economy, Ghafari earned record-high revenues in 2022 – an accomplishment that would not have been possible without the efforts of our HR team. In a difficult recruiting environment, our HR group onboarded ~150 new team members with highly specialized skillsets in architecture and engineering. They also developed and deployed new strategies to enrich the work experience at Ghafari and limit employee attrition.

They demonstrate care and compassion in all that they do, ensuring that our employees feel supported, motivated, and able to grow.

“As our work environment has evolved dramatically in the last three years, our HR team has quickly adapted our practices and policies to reflect the organization we are today: a team that may be more distributed physically but is no less connected and driven by a shared mission.”

Since the pandemic, our HR team has implemented a more robust onboarding process, restructured our performance appraisal process, made enhancements to our benefit packages, and spearheaded a company-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion learning program. They also continued to enhance our summer internship program, which aims to provide interns across our various disciplines with challenging work assignments that allow them to develop practical skills and experience different project types firsthand. The ultimate testament to the strength of our internship program is that all of our Class of 2023 interns from last summer have joined our team on a full-time basis following their graduation earlier this spring.

Ghafari and our fellow “Excellence in HR” award winners will be honored at the Crain’s Detroit Business HR Summit on August 3.
