Ghafari Ranked #1 U.S. Automotive Facilities Designer by ENR

Ghafari is thrilled to announce that we have been named the #1 U.S. automotive facility designer for 2023 by Engineering News-Record!

The list appeared in ENR’s “Top 500 Sourcebook”, an annual report that ranks the largest U.S.-based architecture and engineering firms across different sectors and project types. Ghafari has ranked among ENR’s top three firms in the automotive sector for 17 consecutive years – 15 of which have been at #1.

We’ve partnered with automakers to plan and design millions of square feet in new facilities, expansions, and upgrades, ranging from vehicle assembly plants, electric vehicle (EV) plants, and battery production facilities, to R+D spaces to corporate workplaces and dealerships. Our approach is informed by our unique blend of capabilities, which combines expertise in planning, design, architecture, engineering, and operations and building systems integration. We continue to rank among ENR’s leaders year after year because we bring a singular understanding of automotive facility design rooted in decades of experience, an operations focus, and an eye towards the future.

Today, we are playing an integral role in the automotive industry’s electrification, providing architecture and engineering services for some of the largest EV battery plants in the country, including the BlueOval SK battery plants – a joint venture between Ford and SK On – in Tennessee and Kentucky and the Ultium Cells manufacturing plant – a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and General Motors – in Lansing, Michigan.
