A multi-family development with modern amenities.

Overview

This project transformed an old burned-down litho plant into a multi-family development. The location is geared towards tenants traveling to and from the neighboring Aquinas College or downtown Grand Rapids. Located in a popular neighborhood, our team was engaged to design a building that would reflect the surrounding environment while offering modern amenities.

Tailoring the Solution

A design that complements the surrounding environment.

This project consists of two buildings, containing studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, totaling 47 units. The first building is a three-story apartment building, in which the first floors are row-style walk-up apartments with private front porches. The second building is four stories, with three levels of apartments positioned above retail / restaurant space.

Ground-floor retail spaces accommodate a restaurant, salon, home decor store, and a boutique. Both buildings are clad in brick with decorative cast stone banding that exhibits the distinguished character of the surrounding neighborhood.
