An advanced lab in the world’s largest medical city.

Overview

Texas Medical Center (TMC), the largest medical city in the world at 50 million SF, is at the forefront of advancing life sciences. As a leading global technology company, ABB wanted to establish space at the TMC – which encourages cross-institutional collaboration – to showcase how their advancements in robotics translate into the medical realm.

Tailoring the Solution

A space that communicates their presence to the broader healthcare community.

After establishing the space on campus to communicate their presence to the broader community, it was important that the Ghafari team design the 6,300 SF space to reflect ABB’s image and vision. Originally a Nabisco plant built in the early 1900s, the first-floor suite was renovated to incorporate ABB’s colors and brand throughout.

Our team also worked closely with TMC to make sure all spaces, including the reception area, office space, conference rooms, and robot display, demonstration, and testing areas, followed their campus design regulations. With this space, ABB can now showcase their advanced robotics to the TMC’s community of doctors and scientists and drive a more productive and sustainable future.
