UNDERSTANDING THE CHALLENGE

Fox Powersports – a division of Fox Motors, Michigan’s second-largest auto dealer group – decided to consolidate two existing retail locations into a new motorsports supercenter to meet an upsurge in product demand. With this facility, Fox sought to proactively tackle their anticipated growth in product sales and services while further cementing their position as a leading powersports dealer.

TAILORING THE SOLUTION

The new 56,000 SF supercenter provides full sales, service, and storage capabilities for 14 brands of new and used watercraft, motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, and snowmobiles under one roof. The facility’s 32,000 SF showroom features brand-dedicated machine, apparel, and accessories sales areas. A service area, dynamometer, jet ski testing facilities, sales team offices, meeting spaces, and support areas are also housed on the site. Other amenities include a café, Starbucks coffee bar, and outdoor patio entertainment areas.

We applied best practices and lessons learned from previous work on Fox Motors automotive dealerships and held interactive weekly meetings – allowing for timely consensus-building on the facility layout, material selections, and furniture. In addition to developing site plans, floor plans, interior and exterior elevations, and building sections, we also provided oversight during construction. This approach resulted in the optimized integration of each manufacturer’s distinct branding and logistics requirements into the new facility, which was delivered on time and under budget.

SUPPORTING WHAT MATTERS

Set along a high-traffic intersection, the superstore is highly visible and easily accessible, further positioning this facility as a regional destination for powersports experts and enthusiasts.
