Q+A with Todd Drouillard

Senior Project Manager, Dearborn

How do you describe your job to people outside of the industry?

Most people outside of the industry think they know what architects really do, but don’t know that we are also problem solvers, mediators, thinkers and negotiators. Overall, we are master builders.

Why did you decide to become an architect?

When I was 10 years old, all I wanted to be was an architect. I loved to draw, design and build things.  Flash forward to now…it’s still all I want to do.

How would you describe life at Ghafari?

Work hard, play hard. Beyond the work week, we keep busy with extracurricular office activities: golf, bowling and softball.

What is the most exciting thing that has happened during your time at Ghafari?

Watching the company expand into an international AE design firm.

What is a key idea or lesson you have learned while working at Ghafari?

It takes more than one person to raise a building – it takes a village of architects, engineers, managers and support staff to make it happen.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Traveling with my family, going on outdoor adventures all while working on my “Dad Brand”.
