Project Architect Jonathon Jackson Named to ENR Midwest’s 2023 “Top Young Professionals” Class

Ghafari is proud to announce that Project Architect Jonathon Jackson, AIA, CDT was named to ENR Midwest’s 2023 class of “Top Young Professionals”!

A member of the Ghafari team since 2011, Jonathon initiated his career as an entry-level architectural draftsman and quickly positioned himself as a recognized subject matter expert in architecture, technical knowledge, and BIM technologies. In his current role as a project architect, he provides guidance, support, and assistance for client-related procedural concerns and construction issues. His involvement with projects spans the design, document production, and construction administration phases.

Jonathon earned his Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in architecture from Lawrence Technological University. He earned his licensure in Michigan in 2016, is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and is a certified Construction Documents Technologist.

Jonathon’s professional achievements in the industry earned him the AIA Michigan Young Architect of the Year Award in 2019. His achievements were also recognized by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer when she appointed him to the Michigan Construction Code Commission. Jonathon also served as the Michigan Young Architect Regional Director for the Young Architects Forum from 2020 through 2022.

Jonathon continues to stay current on emerging trends and new technologies. His knowledge and passion for promoting school accreditation to achieve licensure has inspired him to mentoring young professionals by teaching architectural registration classes, as well as serving as an adjunct professor at both College for Creative Studies and Henry Ford College in Michigan.

As a member of Ghafari’s Event Planning Committee, Jonathon assists in coordinating fundraisers for organizations such as the American Red Cross and local Michigan outreach programs Haven of Oakland County and St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center. He has also participated in Herman Miller’s “We Care” holiday event, spending quality time with children as they are given the opportunity to create gifts for family, teachers, and friends. He also took part in the 2018 / 2019 Detroit CANstruction events.

Jonathon is one of 20 individuals under the age of 40 who were selected by ENR Midwest based on their talent, leadership, and service in the AEC industry. Regional winners will move forward for consideration in a national round of judging, which will decide ENR’s 2023 “Top 20 Under 40”.
