Chicago Federal Center Plaza Restoration is Finalist for Chicago Building Congress Merit Award

The Chicago Federal Center Plaza restoration project was a finalist in the 57th Annual Chicago Building Congress Merit Awards. Ghafari served as the architect and engineer of record for the $28.1 million project, a rehabilitation of the plaza that is home to the iconic Mies van der Rohe-designed Chicago Federal Center buildings. The project was one of four finalists recognized in the Infrastructure Construction category.

Chicago Building Congress’ Merit Awards have celebrated the construction industry since 1956. This year’s awards ceremony was held at the University Club of Chicago on May 15.
