Lessons Learned from the Field: Using the Last Planner System® on a Fast-Track Project

The Lean Construction Institute’s Michigan Community of Practice is excited to present “Lessons Learned from the Field: Using the Last Planner System® on a Fast-Track Project”.

vPlanner’s Samir Emdanat along with Erich Watry and Thomas Laney of Walbridge will share best practices and lessons learned from using the Last Planner System® and vPlanner to manage a complex, fast-track project in the Detroit area. The project involved the renovation of a 212,000 SF, three-story, 60-year-old office building. Construction was completed while maintaining partial occupancy.

The highly disciplined approach of implementing and managing the LPS® process was key to making the work visible, engaging the trade contractors, reducing out-of-sequence work, and improving crew utilization. The results were impressive. Reliability, as measured with the PPC score, increased to above 85%, and resource allocations improved, which helped make up lost time.

There is a small registration fee ($15 for LCI members, $25 for nonmembers) that supports the LCI Michigan Community of Practice. This virtual event is free for owners and students.
