With over 22 years of experience, Michael delights his clients by offering a seamless blend of accomplished design leadership and proven process innovation. A thoughtful visionary and skilled facilitator, he earns the trust of clients through his hands-on and inclusive approach. He promotes the “value-add” importance of his synergistic design experience, as his expertise transcends a singular market type.

Michael, his teams, and clients have successfully planned, designed and constructed projects in the workplace, hospitality, education, institutional, retail, residential, and mixed-use / multi-family markets. He recently has led and implemented human-centered design transformations, including The Adler Planetarium’s Sky Theater in Chicago, the Land O’Frost corporate headquarters relocation and design, and a 300-person workplace reinvention for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Holding degrees in both fine arts and architecture, Michael believes great design is no coincidence and surrounds himself with original thinking, unceasing inspiration, and enduring relationships. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural and Registration Boards. He has also participated in the Metropolitan Planning Council, Society of Contemporary Art, and the Society for College and University Planners. Michael holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Calvin College.
