Global automotive supplier Valeo identified a series of modifications and renovations that would modernize their R+D center, which houses sophisticated prototype testing. They also wanted to upgrade the facility’s office and public spaces, making them more aesthetically pleasing while improving how they function. We worked with Valeo to transform each floor of the center into a high-performing asset in line with their business goals. We adopted a fast-track approach to meet our client’s aggressive schedule for completion.
We planned extensive renovations to all three floors of the building. These included modifications to the main lobby in order to improve security, redefine circulation, and enhance Valeo’s corporate aesthetics. We also created a conference center and cafeteria on the first floor. Through the use of frameless glass partitions in the office areas, our design creates visually open spaces and allows access to natural light. We also renovated and upgraded the existing high-bay lab to meet specific lab requirements for wiper systems, interior controls, electrical systems, and security systems divisions. New lab features include anechoic and environmental chambers for prototype testing of acoustics, air-flow dynamics, and chemical corrosion.
Using the standards in Valeo’s “Factory Design” manual, we created premier office and lab spaces within a fast-track time frame. Specifically, we transformed the look and feel of the office areas to promote communication and create a more vibrant environment for Valeo employees. The upgraded lab functions were critical to the center’s productivity and its ability to contribute to Valeo’s position as a cutting-edge automotive supplier.
