Thanks for signing up!
First and foremost, I am a problem solver and designer. By listening to the needs of my clients and collaborating with our team of designers, I create and design cutting-edge buildings and spaces all around the world.
Since I was a child, I always knew that I wanted to be an architect. I grew up on the far southeast side of Chicago, in the shadows of the former steel mills, and I was inspired by amazing industrialized landscapes and how the neighborhoods developed around them. This interest eventually led me down the path to become an architect.
Life at Ghafari has been a great learning experience. We get the chance to work on projects all around the world for great clients. I find it meaningful as an architect to be a part of a project, from the initial sketches on the drawing board to seeing our vision come to life during construction. Being involved on projects from start to finish is the best kind of learning experience and a vital way for one to grow and develop.
One of the projects I was fortunate to see from the initial phase to the construction phase was the Woodward Lincoln Campus. I was invited to be a part of the topping-out ceremony for this project and was asked to sign the commemorative steel beam along with other members of the design team. That was a really fun experience because I was literally able to leave “my signature” on the building.
Working with such a diverse group of designers and engineers has really taught me the importance of teamwork and multi-disciplinary design. When we are all working as a team, we are able to design buildings and spaces that are functional, efficient, and beautiful.
Walking around and exploring Chicago with my wife, Nicole, and our dog, Gizmo. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new places, cultures, and cuisines.
