Ghafari Executive VP Sworn in as AIA Michigan Chapter President

Ghafari Executive Vice President Mike Neville, AIA was recently sworn in as the 2016 president of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Michigan chapter. As an active and longstanding member of the organization, Mike has held a number of committee and board positions with the Michigan and Detroit chapters, including his most recent role as 2015 Vice President of the Michigan chapter. 

“Mike has been extremely involved in the chapter and its evolution over the years,” says 2015 AIA Michigan President Jeffrey Ferweda. “He has been incredibly supportive and will definitely be an outstanding president.”
 
With more than 30 years of architectural, engineering and project management experience, Mike is currently responsible for corporate operations, client interface and business development at Ghafari. He has a wealth of international experience that includes numerous industrial and manufacturing projects.

Mike has been extremely involved in the chapter and its evolution over the years. He has been incredibly supportive and will definitely be an outstanding president.

Having spent many years serving on the Emerging Professionals Committee, Mike has maintained a vested interest in ushering new architectural professionals into their career paths through various mentorship and educational programs. One of his top priorities for the year is to provide new professionals with more opportunities to develop their careers and to connect with industry leaders for additional counsel. 
 
“I am excited to transition into this role and I’m grateful for the support and dedication of our board members, executive director and staff,” says Mike. “I plan to work closely with our leadership team to make 2016 a great year.”
