United Cargo’s new 475,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to handle four wide-body freighters, as well as United’s Cargo activity with passenger aircraft.  The facility will process up to 500,000 tons of cargo annually and will have a 6,000 pieces per hour mail sortation capacity, featuring cross-belt sort technology. The facility adheres to the O’Hare Modernization Program’s sustainable guidelines, including its use of a 150,000 sq. ft. vegetative roof.
