Structural Designer D3 - Indianapolis, Indiana

With direct supervision from the Manager Structural Engineering or more senior engineer, provide the technical, organizational and communication skills for day-to-day support. Entry-level position involved in the application of engineering fundamentals to design structural framing systems or components thereof.

Primary Responsibilities

• With direction and assistance, formulate design and/or analysis of structural framing systems and performs necessary calculations.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions.
• With direction and assistance, prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications, cost estimates, etc.
• Communicate with other disciplines to produce well coordinated construction documents.
• With direction and assistance, review shop-drawing submittals to assure design intent is met.
• Maintain project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, etc.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
• E.I.T preferred.
• 1-4+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience in the structural engineering field.

Additional Skills

• RAM, Risa, ETABS, or STAADPro; AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
