Packaging Engineer - Dearborn, Michigan
Design, develop and validate new Automotive Shipping Packaging process including racks, thermal form trim, injection molded components and dunnage for Powertrain components – i.e.: engine and transmission components etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze current packaging operations to determine target areas for process improvement flow.
- Provide continuous improvement studies aimed at identifying packaging related cost reduction opportunities.
- Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluation, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Maintain BOM packaging specifications.
- Analyze product / packaging damage issues and implement effective and timely solutions to bring resolution and improve customer satisfaction.
- Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Develop material strategies to optimize efficiencies at packaging and supplier locations.
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures for packaging assembly lines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging, Supply Chain Management, or related Business.
- 5 to 10 years of progressively more responsible previous experience.

- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
