Ghafari participated in a Build-Operate-Transfer competition for the expansion of the Hajj Terminal Complex, an icon in the Muslim and architectural worlds. The competition required the creation of a new facility to accommodate up to 4,000 passengers per hour during peak arrival times. This phased approach provided increased capacity for terminal processing, passenger facilities, departure lounges, and retail spaces.
