The 82,000 sq. ft. Engineering Development Center includes the following state-of-the-art laboratories: advanced propulsion, nanotechnology, urban infrastructure research, interdisciplinary MEMS/NEMS, and team-based student project laboratories. The facility also includes a 15,000 sq. ft. Smart Sensors and Integrated Microsystems (SSIM) area with a Class 1000 clean room. A modular design approach for lab spaces was used to enable future flexibility. LEED Silver certification is pending on this facility, which was entirely 3D enabled. The 3D master models will be used as part of the university’s engineering curriculum.
