On March 8, hundreds of people gathered at Cranbrook for a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new Kingswood Girls Middle School, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The 47,000 sq. ft. school was specifically designed to educate and empower girls in grades 6-8. The new facility, which opened for students in late February, houses classrooms, laboratories, art studios, a gymnasium, cafeteria and media center.
“We are extremely fortunate and pleased to open our new Kingswood Middle School for Girls, designed specifically for the way middle school-aged girls learn,” Arlyce Seibert, Director of Cranbrook Schools, said during the dedication ceremony. “We strive to foster the whole student and inspiring our young women through our unique educational setting is at the heart of what we do.”
Ghafari was the architect of record for the new school, working with Texas-based design architect Lake-Flato. Ghafari also provided engineering and 3D building information modeling (BIM) services for the project.
Chairman Yousif B. Ghafari attended the dedication ceremony, along with representatives from Ghafari’s project team.
