This project included comprehensive operations and facilities planning and design for a new 82,000 sq. meter cargo complex. Ghafari’s services included consulting for package/freight processing, design of the sortation hub center, parking and access apron for 23 wide-body (including seven A380) aircraft, Ground Support Equipment maintenance buildings, landside truck apron and marshaling areas, administrative offices and site security/support facilities. The cargo processing center incorporates advanced systems and controls for international shipments, including customs, freight tracking and protective segregation of cargo for customs and security screening. This facility features a sort system capable of handling 24,000 pieces per hour with 12 x-ray machines for airport security and customs.
