An industrial engineer by background, Ali undertakes every project with an operations-focused mentality, always in search of value-generating efficiencies. As President of Ghafari’s Chicago Office and International Operations, he has applied a similar methodical approach in driving the firm’s expansion both in the U.S. and abroad. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing management oversight of Ghafari’s engineering, architecture, and construction operations. He has been instrumental in recent company growth and continues to play a critical role in developing new geographic diversification strategies. With his depth of expertise in the aviation sector, he also provides principal oversight on both domestic and international airport projects.
With over 20 years of executive leadership, project management, and industrial engineering experience, Ali has led a variety of large-scale, global projects across the aviation, manufacturing, and logistics industries. Specializing in operations design and financial analysis, he has developed functional environments, systems, and facilities for such clients as American Airlines, United Airlines, JetBlue, FedEx, DHL, Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries, Qatar Airways, and Qantas. A leading expert on air cargo operations, he co-authored “Facility Planning Guide for Air Cargo, an Air Transport Association Publication”.
Ali holds a Master of Science in engineering management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
